Tuscany ReBuy Tournaments

One of the most poorly played aspects of tournament poker is the rebuy event. Players who attempt to play rebuys events are often overwhelmed by professionals making endless rebuys and playing wildly marginal hands during the first few levels. Well there is a method to this rebuy madness and after reading a book or two, the only way to master the rebuy form of tournament poker is to play it. In Las Vegas there is a great rebuy tournament that runs three times at day at the Tuscany Casino and it won’t cost you your entire bankroll to play.

The tournament is No Limit Hold’em; of course, $22 buy-in with unlimited $10 rebuys for the first hour. Now be aware that there are going to be a wide range of playing skills as far as the rebuy aspect goes. Many rocks will be ducking the confrontations and there will be other players going for the wide open “get the chips out” style of the professional players. Getting a feel for your table is very important early in this tournament.

Overall, it’s a very fun tournament even though players not used to a rebuy event will invariably complain about the hyper-aggressive and super-loose play the first few levels. They run the tournament three times every day at 4:00, 10:00 and 19:00; if you need some practice in a rebuy tournament and don’t want to risk a large amount of cash, this is the place for you. I will be the short guy in the red shirt with the stack of $10 bills in front of him.
