The “Deep Stack” tournament has become the signature event of the Venetian poker room. The successful promotion run twice in 2007 has now led to the announcement of the 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza (DSE) series. The DSE series will encompass two tournaments a year featuring: No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha 8 or Better, and H.O.R.S.E. The highly anticipated new poker series will debut in the beginning of February 2008 and the second tournament will compete with the world’s largest poker tournament, the World Series of Poker, in June.

The key to the Deep Stack events are the starting chips, which are double or more the usual chip stacks at other casinos and also include much longer rounds. The Deep Stack tournaments have consistently drawn large numbers of entrants and have added to the growing reputation of the Venetian, which is clearly one of the best rooms in Las Vegas. The Deep Stack Extravaganza also includes numerous satellites both before and during the tournament schedule. Satellites for the February tournament have already begun.

Each event in the DSE series will consist of individual daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $330 with 6,000 in starting chips to $1,060 with 10,000 in starting chips. The February 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza Series will feature, for the first time, a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship event with 15,000 in starting chips.

The poker room has also increased the starting chip stacks of their daily scheduled tournaments, making the Venetian poker room the “home of the Deep Stack.”
