If you walk into the Bellagio Poker Room in Las Vegas and look directly across from the main entrance you will see an all glass room. This is Bobby’s Room, home to what is simply known in the poker world as “The Big Game.”
The exclusive room is named after Bobby Baldwin, the 1979 World Series of Poker main event champion and holder of three other WSOP bracelets. A member of the Poker Hall of Fame, Bobby Baldwin has also been president of the Golden Nugget casino, head of the Mirage, president of the Bellagio and Chief Financial Officer of Mirage Resorts. He currently is the CEO of the massive Project City Center development going up on the Las Vegas Strip next to Bellagio. He was also one of the original contributors to Doyle Brunson’s Super System poker epic.
Bobby Baldwin still plays in the big game in the room named for him. Along side Bobby you can find the likes of: Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Minh Ly, Eli Elezra, Gus Hansen, Lyle Berman, Barry Greenstein, Chip Reese, Jennifer Harman, Chau Giang and many more professional players of this caliber.
The room itself has three tables and its own floor manager. The table stakes are generally $4,000/$8,000 and the game is usually a mixed menu selected by whoever is playing that day. While the room really hops during the three or four major tournaments each year at Bellagio, the big game is nearly always in session unless the “big” names area all out of town at the same major tournament.
Visitor’s to the Bellagio poker room can watch the action from outside of Bobby’s Room and even take a tour during the day when the big game is not in session and yes if you have the cash, you are welcome to join the game and make a deposit with the true legends of the game playing in Bobby’s Room.
